The Agency says Army Cpl. Clifford Johnson was reported missing in action in December 1950 when his unit was attacked by enemy forces in North Korea. After the battle, his remains could not be recovered.

After a U.S.-North Korea summit in 2018, North Korea turned over remains of American service members killed during the war. Since August 2018, a lab at Joint Base Pearl Harbor has been working to identify those remains.

Johnson, who was 20 years old when he died, will be buried in Schuylerville on May 19.
