Berkshire Country Day School is a private school with around 110 students, founded in 1946, that offers pre-K through 9th grade education in Lenox, Massachusetts. This month, the school announced a new plan to open up its doors to a wider segment of the Berkshire and Columbia County community, “regardless of income and zip code.” Head of school Jennifer Fox tells WAMC that Berkshire Country Day is re-envisioning its tuition structure.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018, following stints at WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Western Massachusetts, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. His free time is spent with his cat Harry, experimental electronic music, and exploring the woods.
