UAlbany Climate Scientist Discusses Recent IPCC Report

NASA

The UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has released a new report that dives into land use and how it relates on climate change.

Among details, the IPCC is warning that people must change the way they grow and consume food, reduce waste, and manage forests, wetlands, and agricultural lands in a warming world.

University at Albany Professor of Geography and Planning Andrei Lapenas is a climate scientist with experience working with the IPCC. He was a contributing author of the 1990 IPCC First Assessment Report and studies human-caused climate change.

Dr. Lapenas spoke with WAMC's Lucas Willard about the IPCC report.

Lucas Willard is a news reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011. He produces and hosts The Best of Our Knowledge and WAMC Listening Party.
