Residents of Hoosick Falls in Rensselaer County are being encouraged to attend a public meeting Monday evening to discuss the latest findings related to the PFOA-contamination of local water supplies.
In a YouTube video, Mayor Rob Allen said the PFOA concentrations near the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Site on McCaffrey Street are more than one thousand times the federal health advisory level.
“There’s been a great deal of testing done here and due to the nature of the work and the age of the location, it was expected that the highest PFOA results would be at this location. And sure enough one of the highest test results came back at over 100,000 parts per trillion,” said Allen.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Hoosick Falls Central School auditorium. An availability session will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.
