A committee has recommended several changes to the city charter in Northampton, Massachusetts that if adopted would dramatically impact who is eligible to vote in future municipal elections.
The Northampton Charter Review Committee is expected to approve a final report later this month that will recommend lowering the municipal voting age to 16 and allow non-citizens to vote.
WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Stanley Moulton, the chair of the committee, about the group’s recommendations.
