Pittsfield American Legion Cited For Illegal Gambling
An American Legion post in Pittsfield has been cited for illegal gambling.
After an inspection in May, the state Alcohol Beverages Control Commission cited American Legion Pittsfield Post 68 for permitting illegal gambling.
The inspection found three pay-to-play gaming devices with which bartenders would allegedly record bets.
The bartender would pay winners from an envelope of cash provided by the vendor, Pace Vending.
A hearing before the commission on the matter is set for Sept. 12.
