The reconstruction of the City of Pittsfield’s First Street Parking Lot in Western Massachusetts is set to begin next week. Nearly half of the people who park there will have to go park somewhere else.
The city’s reconstruction plan for the First Street Parking Lot will put some commuters out of parking space – at least for little while.
During Phase 1 of the construction, there will be a limited number of timed parking spaces available. There will be no timed spaces during Phase 2 and upon completion of the project.
Instead, commuters will have to apply for a parking permit, or pay for metered parking.
