Detour given Mill Lane Bridge closure

A bridge in Dutchess County, New York has been closed following a state inspection.

The Dutchess County Department of Public Works has announced the Mill Lane Bridge in the Town of Pleasant Valley has been closed to all traffic following a New York State Department of Transportation inspection. The inspection found severe deterioration of the bridge’s steel girders. Some 140 vehicles cross the bridge daily and there will now be a detour. The county’s Department of Public Works has been crafting a design plan for the bridge, and the more than $1.1 million replacement project is part of the 2019 Bridge and Highway funding request that is scheduled to be presented at the Dutchess County Legislature’s April board meeting.
