WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — The ex-mayor of a city in the Hudson Valley has been acquitted at his retrial of domestic violence charges.
A Westchester County jury issued a not-guilty verdict Friday in the case against former White Plains Mayor Adam Bradley. Three years ago, Bradley was convicted of harassment and attempted assault. His estranged wife, Fumiko Bradley, testified that he threw hot tea at her and slammed a door on her fingers. The verdict led to Bradley's resignation as mayor. An appeals court overturned the convictions last year, ruling that Bradley should have been allowed to call witnesses who might have cast doubt on his wife's testimony. One witness at the retrial said the wife told her the door-slamming incident might have been an accident.
