We have the scarves and the egg shakers. We have the songs and the stories. We just need you and the kiddos!
Storytime promotes early literacy, and helps young learners become kindergarten ready by practicing sitting, listening, reading, sharing, following directions, movement, and song with other children and adults.
All with lots of fun mixed in!This is a weekly FREE programBest for pre-k age kids. Older kids are welcome, but might not get the most out of this program

May 11th 10 am-4 pm- Art for All Create Your Own Fabric for a Miniature Chair: Enjoy your visit to the museum and explore your artistic side with an art project inspired by the museum's collections. This month, inspired by Sign of the Rabbit: The Colorful World of Hunt Slonem, we will create our own unique fabric patterns and glue them to a miniature chair. The classroom will be closed from 1pm-2pm. Free with Museum Admission.
Fairy House Hunt in the Gardens!
Dust off your wings and fly on over to this beloved annual family event! Enjoy this fabulous outdoor scavenger hunt for whimsical and adorable Fairy Houses hidden among the blooming flowers and trees at Locust Grove! Each Fairy House celebrates a different heirloom flower or historic tree and the pollinators that make them grow!
Fairy House happens EVERY weekend in May and June, as well as, Mondays, May 27
Tickets are $10/person online. Children under 4 are free.

Explore the captivating worlds of mystery and wonder in this exhibition featuring highlights from the Norman Rockwell Museum’s Permanent Collection, which now holds almost 25,000 illustrations by prominent artists working across genres and time periods.
Specific selections include Teresa Fasolino’s colorful, clue-filled mystery novel cover illustrations; Thomas Woodruff’s ethereal book jacket art for best-selling novels by Anne Tyler and Gabriel García Márquez; lighthearted visual puns for Stewart Edelstein’s Dubious Doublets by James Grashow; luminous watercolors for The Wizard of Oz and other stories by Thea Kliros; steamy pulp illustrations by Everett Raymond Kinstler and Mort Kunstler; mystical three-dimensional illustrations for books and magazines by Joan Hall; fictional American histories by Julian Allen; a fun and engaging Rockwell Who-Dun-It; and a brand new Rockwell acquisition that offers mysteries of its own.
On March 9 from 5:00-7:00pm, join us for a Members Reception for the new spring exhibition, Mystery and Wonder: Highlights from the Illustration Collection. Enjoy light refreshments, meet some of the artists featured in the exhibition, and view a newly acquired Rockwell work depicting the Election of 1800.

Join us for a reading of The Book Rescuer: How a Mensch from Massachusetts Saved Yiddish Literature for Generations to Come, followed by a brief hands-on examination of early 20th century Yiddish children’s illustrated books. Families are then invited to explore the Center’s new exhibition, Yiddish: A Global Culture, with a family guide featuring the Center’s mascot, Tsiggy the Goat. Kids can search for exhibit highlights and add stickers to their guides as they explore.
Programs are presented free on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
This event is being presented as part of the 2024 Mass Kids Literature Festival.

Join us each month on the third Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. for Teen Book Club!
Each month we will pick a book to read and discuss. We also have art activities connected to the books we are reading.
New readers are always welcome! Didn't read or finish the book? That is ok, still come and hang out! Tasty snacks provided.
Books can be picked up at the Library front desk.
