Bridge Street Theatre presents the U.S. Premiere of Red Like Fruit by award-winning playwright Hannah Moscovitch, October 2–12, 2025, on its “Priscilla” Mainstage in Catskill. Moscovitch, hailed as “the dark angel of Canadian theatre,” has earned international acclaim for her fearless works including East of Berlin and Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes. In Red Like Fruit, journalist Lauren (Elizabeth Narciso) investigates a domestic violence case but soon finds herself reckoning with her own long-suppressed past. Her narrative is voiced by an actor (Johnny Travers), forcing audiences to question whose stories are told and whose are silenced. Winner of a “Fringe First” Award at the Edinburgh Festival, the play is directed by Margo Whitcomb, who previously helmed BST’s Berkie Award-winning East of Berlin. Twin brothers George (guitar) and Charles Clements (bass) return with their first joint project since The Lonely Heartstrings Band, blending roots, rock, bluegrass, jazz, and classical into a sound that’s both intimate and groovy. Opening the evening, Vermont folk duo The Early Risers—Ashley Storrow and Putnam Smith—deliver rich vocal harmonies and intricate arrangements on banjo, guitar, mandolin, piano, and more, joined by Sarah Carlisle (upright bass) and Lissa Schneckenburger (fiddle). A night of heartfelt songwriting, instrumental virtuosity, and warm New England charm.

New York State experiences a significant fall bird migration, offering fantastic birding opportunities. Join a Naturalist on the Cat Mountain trail along Edgecomb Pond to observe and record a diverse range of birds from waterfowl to raptors and songbirds.

This 1.5 mile out and back hike will be relatively flat and provide ample time for observing species to later upload to eBird. Prior birding experience is not necessary and binoculars will be available for use.

We will be collecting gently-used books— please no dictionaries, magazines, or text books— at the Town Hall gym on Thursday, October 9th from 10-12 and 4-6, and again on Friday, the 10th from 10-12 and 4-6.

All proceeds will go toward funding programs, activities, and supplies for the West Stockbridge Library.

Skidmore Encore announces registration for its Fall 2025 lecture series delivered by the remarkable Skidmore College faculty for adult learners age 55+ from around the local region. Encore attracts intellectually curious people who are eager to learn. Join us! The 2025 program runs for seven weeks on Tuesdays from September 30 through November 11 in the gorgeous Arthur Zankel Music Center Skidmore College campus.
