Community leaders from across the Capital Region are gathering Monday for the launch of the "2016 Countdown to Coverage" campaign.
The campaign is being staged to build on the success of NY State of Health enrollment and a new coverage option being announced for low- and moderate-income people.
Congressman Paul Tonko will join the mayors of Albany, Schenectady and Troy, and others, Monday at noon in Albany, to mark the beginning of this year’s open enrollment period. The campaign wants to let residents and small business owners know of the need to enroll in health coverage by January 31, 2016 through the NY State of Health Marketplace, and how to get free help with navigating the process.
The campaign will also announce the Essential Plan, a new low cost coverage option available on January 1 for people whose family income is just a bit too high to qualify for Medicaid.
