Editor Ends Newspaper’s Short Life

An upstate newspaper has called it quits.

The Schoharie News, an online-only news website that reinvented itself as a print weekly broadsheet earlier this year, has thrown in the towel after 13 weeks.

The online Watershed Post reports the newspaper's owner, editor and founder Tim Knight, said he decided to close the paper after he realizing that he was making less than half of what he made while working at a local deli.  He told the post via email that he gave it his best.

Schoharie County is down to one dedicated print weekly, the Times Journal.
