Digital First Media has named Robert O'Leary publisher of its New York newspapers, including The Record in Troy, the Saratogian, the Daily Freeman in Kingston and the Oneida Daily Dispatch.

O'Leary has been general manager of the Daily Freeman since February 2014. Before that, he worked at The Poughkeepsie Journal for more than 20 years, rising through the advertising department ranks to become advertising director. He also worked in advertising at The Daily Gazette in Schenectady.

Guy Gilmore, executive vice president of Digital First Media's eastern division, said Record and Saratogian Publisher Michael O'Sullivan accepted a voluntary buyout effective Friday.
