Rossi's Deli: 45 South Clover St, Poughkeepsie, is as authentic an Italian deli as you can get without a plane ride to Rome. Panini is their specialty, prepared on homemade foccacia with homemade mozzarella. The imports mix is a favorite too, as is the chicken cutlet with prosciutto and basil pesto sauce.
Mill House Brewing Company: 289 Mill St, Poughkeepsie, was recently named one of OpenTable’s Hot 100 restaurants in the United States. They offer creative sausage platters and house-made beers, including fan favorite Velvet Panda Stout.
