The prevalence of sexual assault in the U.S. Military has been receiving some increased scrutiny

CARMEL, N.Y. (AP) — A suburban district attorney has asked a neighboring county to handle a child rape case because he is acquainted with the suspect.

Putnam County prosecutor Adam Levy said Thursday in an emailed statement that he knows 35-year-old Alexandru Hossu of Southeast. His spokeswoman would not elaborate, but The Journal News reported that Hossu is the district attorney's personal trainer.

For several years after her identical twin died of a drug overdose in 2006, Christa would look in the mirror and see her sister's face staring back at her. No matter where she went, she could not escape the image of her twin.

Louise Erdrich has been a published and highly regarded author for nearly 30 years but had never won a National Book Award until being cited in November 2012 for her novel, The Round House. It is the second book of a planned trilogy about an Ojibwe boy and his quest to avenge his mother's rape.
