Walkway Over the Hudson will be closed to the public Saturday morning for an attempt to break a world record. One has to register, for a fee, to participate.
The event is one of Walkway’s biggest fundraising efforts for the year. Walkway State Park will be closed to the public from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. so the nonprofit group can host its attempt to break a world record for the “Most People to Dance in a Chorus Line.” They need more than 1,700 people to complete some simple steps in unison to the "I Love New York" jingle. After all, the World Record attempt is being held on New York State’s “I Love My Park Day.” The current world record for the longest chorus line was set in 2004, in Long Beach, California, with 1,628 participants. Last year, Walkway broke the Guinness World Record for the world's longest line of dancers doing the Hokey Pokey, which drew 2,569 participants.
