A 74-year-old former New York State senator who secretly recorded other lawmakers is facing up to two years in prison after she pleaded guilty to embezzling money.

Shirley Huntley is scheduled to be sentenced today in Brooklyn federal court after pleading guilty to mail fraud conspiracy last winter. The Queens Democrat admitted embezzling nearly $88,000 from a state-funded nonprofit she controlled.

Huntley secretly recorded nine individuals, eight of whom were under investigation. The names of the lawmakers and political operatives have been released by a judge though prosecutors sought to keep the names secret.
