Earlier this month, President Trump nominated Neil Gorsuch to fill the Supreme Court seat held by the late Justice Antonin Scalia. In 2006, Judge Gorsuch was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the Senate to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit based in Denver, CO. Gorsuch studied at Columbia, Harvard and Oxford. The Supreme Court is currently split ideologically four to four. President Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland, was refused a Senate hearing for about a year following Scalia’s death.
