New York Launches Cancer Study

Office of Governor Andrew Cuomo

New York state has launched a new effort to examine cancer trends.

The New York State Departments of Health and Environmental Conservation will analyze four regions across New York with high cancer rates.

Speaking Wednesday at Glens Falls Hospital in Warren County, one of the regions that will be studied, Governor Andrew Cuomo said health, demographic, and environmental factors will be considered.

“I want the people of this state to know we are doing everything that can possibly be done to end this dreaded disease,” said Cuomo. “And we are leading the nation in doing it.”

Western New York, New York City, and Long Island will also be examined.
