Albany, NY – At the end of March, 2004, Sylvia Thomas from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and others, briefed the United Nations on the topic titled, Girls and Technology: New Educational Opportunities. Their testimony at this venue will hopefully elevate global awareness of the need for more women in the engineering and technology fields. The U.N. briefing follows the recent Introduce A Girl To Engineering Day that was part of the National Engineers Week program in the United States. It afforded us the opportunity to host a timely panel discussion with several important national contributors in science and engineering.
