Owner and Designer of Boudoir Baby Veronica Holmquist opened this 2000 square foot showroom to capture a niche with the new baby boomers. After working for other companies setting up retail K&B showrooms all over NY, Veronica decided she wanted to move back to Saugerties, her home town, and open up a shop of her own . Not K&B , but something else in the Design & Furniture field. Veronica is an Artist by Trade , an Interior Designer by degree from the New York School of Interior Design in Manhattan and a born salesperson.
While searching for quality nursery furniture for her own grandchildren, a light bulb went off- why not open a Children's Furniture & Nursery Design store? Veronica contacted several Children furniture companies and using “American Made” and “Local” as her goal, she found manufacturers that fit the bill. Knowing that she would need more than just furniture to stock a 2000 sq ft showroom, store, she searched for local made items to fit this need.
“Locally made” quickly snowballed into meeting so many great craftspeople in the Hudson Valley. Veronica also stocks many items , made in Canada, Germany , South Asia and more. With all this in mind, Boudoir Baby offers not only the furniture, but all the accessories needed to complete any child’s room, such as bedding and window treatments, handmade rugs & baskets, California-made lighting , and beautiful American-made wallpaper as well as providing a local artist for children’s murals. Babies are being born every day, and if Boudoir Baby can offer quality items for new babies, toddlers and their parents, she is doing her job.
