Child Killed In Troy Fire

Multiple people were displaced and a child was killed by a fire that destroyed homes in the City of Troy Sunday morning. The fire occurred near the corner of Fourth and Madison Streets in South Troy.
The cause of death of the child was not immediately known. The child's age was not released Sunday afternoon. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Mayor Patrick Madden said in a statement, "Our hearts are with the family who lost a child during this tragic incident."
The American Red Cross says it provided aid to 20 displaced individuals.
 
Officials said Fourth St. between Madison and Monroe would be closed until further notice.
