Authorities have named the four people found dead in a Troy apartment the day after Christmas.

Police are investigating the deaths of 5-year-old Shanise Myers, 11-year-old Jeremiah Myers, their 36-year-old mother Shanta Myers and her partner, 22-year-old Brandi Mells, as homicides. Their identities and photographs had been circulating on social media since Tuesday night.

Police Chief John Tedesco said the quadruple homicide was not a random act. According to the Times Union, law enforcement sources not involved in the investigation said all four victims were bound, with their throats cut.

The Troy City School District mourned the loss of the two children on its website. Police have not revealed a motive or details about how the four were killed in the city’s Lansingburgh section.

Victory Christian Church of Albany is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.
