Homesteading Event Aims To Inform Adults And Kids

Cornell Cooperative Extension Saratoga County, working with the Milton Grange, is hosting an event Saturday that aims introduce the basics of homesteading to kids and adults.

The event, called Homesteading In The 21st Century, will bring together buttermakers, blacksmiths, beekeepers, and others to demonstrate how anyone can be more connected to the food and land around them.

WAMC’s Southern Adirondack Bureau Chief Lucas Willard spoke with event organizer Eric Smassanow beside his chickens.

The event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Saratoga County 4-H in Milton.
