Schenectady Police Chief Brian Kilcullen is leaving his position for a job in Rutland, Vermont.
Schenectady Mayor Gary McCarthy confirms to the Daily Gazette that Kilcullen, who has served as chief since January 2013, will leave his position by November. A replacement has not been selected.
Serving more than 20 years on the force, Kilcullen joined the city police department in 1994. He was assistant chief from 2008 until 2013, when he took over for former chief Mark Chaires.
