Hyde Collection director Charles Guerin will leave the Glens Falls museum on May 1st for a position as Executive Director of the Biggs Museum of American Art in Dover, Delaware.

Guerin joined the Hyde in 2013. He worked to expand the museum’s permanent collection including a major collection of American photography and a collection of 19th century French works.

Guerin said the Hyde is a “gem of an institution” and that he is honored to have been its director.

From 2000 to 2012, Guerin served as executive director of the University of Arizona Museum of Art. He also was executive director of the University of Wyoming Art Museum in Laramie from 1986-2000.
