State Says Shock Incarceration Saves a Billion Dollars

Albany, NY – New York State prison officials say a so-called "Shock Incarceration Program" that was introduced in New York in the late 1980s, has saved taxpayers about one-billion dollars. And they say thousands of inmates have earned early release through the intensive, six-month program. More from WAMC's Allison Dunne.
