The Boston Symphony Orchestra is bringing a Tanglewood performance to the heart of Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
Pittsfielders can watch a live, multi-camera projection of the BSO’s Friday night performance on a large screen on the Pittsfield Common. President and CEO Mark Volpe says the “Tanglewood In The City” event is part of the organization’s efforts to spread its work to the wider community.
“It will feature obviously Andris Nelsons conducting the Boston Symphony and a program of primarily French repertoire and I’m told the weather’s going to clear for Friday so we’re looking forward to a great evening!”
It starts at 5 p.m. with performances and activities from local groups before the concert at 8.
