Healthcare changes could affect business growth and job creation.

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy was among the Congressional Democrats to meet with the state’s Health Council in an uncertain time for healthcare.

Murphy and House Democrats Elizabeth Esty and John Larson took part in the panel at the Connecticut Health Council focused on federal health care issues, and how any changes to the Affordable Care Act would affect state residents.

Esty, a Democrat from Connecticut’s 5th House District, says after talks with small business leaders and manufacturers, she too is concerned how healthcare changes could affect business growth and job creation.

“The uncertainty around the Affordable Care Act is disastrous for them,” Esty says.

She says businesses don’t want insurance rates, which make up a large percentage of their expenses, to go up any higher.
