Federal officials including those from the Department of Homeland Security recently held a discussion with state leaders from across the country to offer support in protecting election systems from cyberattacks and hacks. Connecticut’s Denise Merrill is the president of the National Association of Secretaries of State. The Democrat tells WAMC it would be extremely difficult and highly improbable to hack Connecticut’s election systems given the established security measures. Merrill also discussed how the state's election systems worked during August's primary elections and the state's new registrar certification program.

Jim was WAMC’s Assistant News Director and hosted WAMC's flagship news programs: Midday Magazine, Northeast Report and Northeast Report Late Edition.
