New Hampshire says it's the first state in the country where people can buy Powerball tickets using a smartphone app that is channeled through a convenience chain.
The San Francisco-based startup AutoLotto has been selling the tickets through its app for several weeks.

The Concord Monitor reports that stores keep 5 percent of ticket sale revenue and get a bonus payment if they sell a jackpot winner. They also use lottery tickets to attract customers.

A lottery spokesman says the arrangement has been approved by the state lottery commission and attorney general's office.
