Connecticut’s online healthcare marketplace continues to tout its success in rolling out the Affordable Care Act. It’s using technological savvy to reach its current goal of enrolling 70,000 people in ACA recognized private or government funded plans.Access Health CT has enrolled 66,000 people since Nov.15.  About 500 purchased health insurance via a mobile app unveiled in June while 40 percent of visitors utilize the website’s talking assistance tool Tina. Jim Wadleigh is Access Health CT’s acting CEO.

“The other states – the money is drying up from the federal government and it becomes much more difficult after the fact to go and re-architect everything from a mobile perspective,” Wadleigh said. “So when we designed our system we had it in mind from day one.”

Connecticut’s open enrollment period ends February 15th.

Jim was WAMC’s Assistant News Director and hosted WAMC's flagship news programs: Midday Magazine, Northeast Report and Northeast Report Late Edition.
