Vermont’s junior senator has been assigned a key position on a key committee in the new session of Congress.
Senator Bernie Sanders was appointed by current Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to be the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee in the next session of Congress.
Sanders, a staunch advocate for working families and the poor said the country needs a budget that “reflects the needs of working families and not Wall Street and the top 1 percent.”
Sanders, an Independent, caucuses with the Democrats.
