'Vermont Strong' License Plates Good 2 More Years

Vermont Disaster Relief Fund

Vermont motorists will be able to display their "Vermont Strong" license plates on their vehicles for another two years.

Governor Peter Shumlin signed legislation Thursday that will allow people to continue to use the special  license plates that were sold to raise money to help people recover from flooding caused by Tropical Storm Irene in August 2011.

Motor Vehicles Commissioner Robert Ide tells Vermont Public Radio the plates can now be displayed through the end of June 2016.

When the Vermont Strong plates were created, the state initially authorized people to use them on the front of their vehicles through the end of this June.
