NYS Senator Asks Students To Write Thank You Notes To Essential Workers

A New York state Senator has launched a community initiative to give thanks to people working on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis.

State Senator James Skoufis has started “Project Gratitude” throughout his 39th District. He’s asking students who are now home from school to write a card to local heroes keeping residents safe during the pandemic. Skoufis reached out to school district superintendents and librarians across the district and distributed a suggested letter-writing outline encouraging students to think about the impact of first responders, sanitation workers, custodial staff, caregivers, health care professionals and all the people on the front lines. Skoufis is using his Newburgh office as the distribution location.
