In New York, the Orange County district attorney says no criminal charges will be filed in connection with allegations made concerning a school district’s athletics team.

Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler Friday announced that his office and the Town of Woodbury Police Department have concluded an investigation into whether criminal prosecutions should be brought in connection with allegations made that some Junior Varsity Football Team members at the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District had been subjected to verbal or physical abuse by other team members or an adult staff member. Hoovler says no criminal charges will be brought both because of lack of evidence and because the students allegedly involved are too young to be charged as criminals. Hoovler says he will work with school officials in implementing anti-harassment measures in school athletics.
