There is a public meeting Wednesday evening in Westchester County on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s annual safety review of Indian Point.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a public open house and meeting to discuss the agency’s annual review of safety performance at the Buchanan-based Indian Point nuclear power plant. Overall, the NRC says Entergy Nuclear-owned Indian Point operated safely during 2013. No inspection findings were greater than green; that is, none of the findings exceeded very low safety significance. Meanwhile, Indian Point opponent Riverkeeper says three years after the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan, little or nothing has changed to improve public safety regarding Indian Point. The public meeting begins at 7 p.m., the open house at 6, at Colonial Terrace in Cortlandt Manor.
