Come on and join us on Tuesday eves so you can experience and learn this exciting cultural dance art form. You'll hear some swinging jazz classics and how to do this swinging dance to some music of today too. No partner necessary, wear comfy shoes. All ages welcome!

Skidmore Encore announces registration for its Fall 2026 lecture series delivered by the remarkable Skidmore College faculty for adult learners age 55+ from around the local region. Encore attracts intellectually curious people who are eager to learn. Join us! We’re thrilled to announce our NEW in-person support groups for adoptive, foster, and kinship caregivers in Brooklyn! Facilitated by NYC AGAPE staff. Each facilitator brings their own lens of lived experience (foster parent, adoptive parent, adult adoptee).

Join us for our monthly New York City Caregiver Connection LIVE event, where we’ll delve into crucial topics such as:
understanding our children’s behaviors
fostering parental resilience
tackling school challenges
addressing social and emotional hurdles
exploring therapeutic versus traditional parenting approaches

We welcome all parents and caregivers seeking a compassionate and understanding community to connect, share, and grow together!

The youth hangouts community group and the parent group are both held at the same time and place, so parents and kids can both get the support they need! We can’t wait to see you!

Canadian pianist Sarah Hagen’s extensive touring has taken her across Canada, to Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany and Italy, and twice to New York City’s Carnegie Hall. With “Perk up, pianist!” Sarah Hagen has transformed her award-winning role as “concert pianist” into a stand-up, or rather, sit-down comedy. Pairing anecdotes from the road with some of her favorite pieces by Chopin, Debussy, and Liszt, Sarah takes audiences deep inside the world of a classical musician as she shares her earnest efforts to keep her spirits up amid troublesome times. Part storytelling and part recital, “Perk up, pianist!” has been described as “one of the best hours I’ve ever spent at the Fringe” [The Coast, Halifax].

Turn back the clock to the golden age of arena rock as Asia brings its iconic 1980s sound to the stage. Formed in London in 1981, the English rock supergroup exploded onto the scene with their 1982 self-titled debut—the year’s biggest album in the U.S.—fueled by soaring synths, towering guitars and radio anthems that defined a generation. Their signature hit, “Heat of the Moment,” became an instant classic, climbing to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart, and remains one of the most recognizable songs of the decade.

Fronted by powerhouse vocalist and bassist John Payne, who joined the band in 1992, Asia entered a new era that carried the band’s melodic rock legacy across the globe. Over the next 15 years, Payne led extensive international tours celebrating the band’s beloved classics while introducing new material, releasing seven studio albums along with multiple live recordings.

Expect a night packed with shimmering keyboards, driving rhythms and the larger-than-life sound that defined ‘80s rock radio—a nostalgic journey back to the days of mixtapes, arena lights and unforgettable hooks. Whether you grew up with Asia or are discovering them for the first time, this is pure retro rock energy at full volume.
