About this event:
Chicago Stepping is an improvisational form of social partner urban dance with its roots in the Chicago Bop and Lindy Hop. It is a smooth, classy, and versatile dance and is primarily danced to old school, soul, jazz, and r&b music. We are a tight-knit community. You'll meet many new people when we travel. You won't learn alone. You will learn the basics, the history culture, and etiquette of this wonderful dance. Can't wait to see you!

In our youth camps, your child will receive top-notch instruction in a noncompetitive environment. They’ll get a sense of pride and increased confidence as they learn communication skills, perseverance, and self-determination, as well as how to be a spectacular acrobat, aerialist, juggler, or clown. We honor the traditions of the circus by including activities to develop creative and performance skills, share the history of circus while passing along fun circus traditions.Students will work in groups by age and ability for the best learning experience. We work with the energy of our youngest students by including separate art activities and quiet time suited to their learning needs.
The Norman Rockwell Museum is honored to present a rare series of early twentieth century lighting advertisements by Norman Rockwell and fellow Golden Age illustrators Maxfield Parrish, N.C. Wyeth, Dean Cornwell, Stanley Arthurs, Worth Brehm, and Charles Chambers created for Edison Mazda Lamps, a division of the General Electric Company. These luminous, richly painted works were widely circulated in published advertisements through the 1920s and are on loan to the Museum for the first time through the generosity of GE Aerospace.
Step back into the vibrant world of the 1920s and 1930s with Jazz Age Illustration, a major exhibition exploring the art of popular illustration during this transformative era. Featuring over 100 works by renowned artists such as Aaron Douglas, John Held Jr., and Frank E. Schoonover, the exhibition delves into the cultural impact of illustration during a time of dramatic social change.
Organized by the Delaware Art Museum, Jazz Age Illustration is the first major exhibition to survey the art of popular illustration in the United States between 1919 and 1942—a vibrant and transformative era of innovation, evolving styles, social change, and expanding popular media.
As has been our recent tradition, we will present a free New Year’s Eve concert "A Quilt of Courage" at Old Dutch Church at 6pm in partnership with the City of Kingston and Old Dutch Church. Inspired by the lives of Hudson Valley people who changed the course of history in this country we celebrate their selfless dedication to improving the lives of others. We will collect cash donations to benefit People’s Place of Kingston.
