"Hackard Law is excited to support the KCRA 3 Kids Can! Food Drive, which has been assisting our local families since 1987. Running from October 4th to November 7th, this event will provide food aid across Northern California. We are proud to be involved and encourage others in the community to join us! Schools can participate by signing up as donation locations, and we welcome individuals to join our effort by contributing non-perishable food items. Together, we can make a difference!

Material Shift showcases work by 13 Haudenosaunee artists who employ found objects and other unconventional materials to create or illustrate traditional cultural objects or concepts and those who, conversely, explore traditional materials in unexpected ways. Works range from playful to provocative. These events are made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Institute of Museum & Library Services, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and friends and members of the Iroquois Museum. Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will host a Free Kids’ Paint & Sip on Friday, November 7, from 5 to 7 pm, in the auditorium at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 67 East Street.

This free Harvest-themed Paint & Sip is best suited for ages 5 to 12, although younger and older children are welcome. All materials, instruction, snacks, and juice will be provided. Children are welcome to drop in anytime over the course of the event, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The auditorium is on the second floor of the parish house, and the entrance is on Allen Street.

In Nebulous Spirit: Atmospheric Landscapes | Watercolors by Betsy Jacaruso, landscape dissolves into atmosphere, memory, and sensation. This collection of watercolors explores the shifting thresholds where earth meets sky and light merges with shadow, inviting stillness and contemplation. Rhinebeck, NY based painter, Betsy Jacaruso, is recognized for her luminous watercolor landscapes. Using wet-on-wet technique and bold color, she distills a feeling beyond representation, capturing the essence of nature through mood and light.

Widely exhibited throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond, Jacaruso also curates exhibitions and teaches watercolor at her Rhinebeck gallery. Serving as juror for the regional group exhibition, WATERCOLOR, which runs concurrently to her exhibition at WRCA, Jacaruso has selected 15 watercolors from over 100 works submitted, subject matter ranging from botanical details and wildlife studies to landscapes that walk us in and out of Hudson Valley vistas. Exhibiting artists include Elizabeth Foster, Jennifer Gibson, Margaret Grasso, Janet Gunderson, Keith Gunderson, Ju Kang, Serene Lincoln, Ping Moroney, Roberta Rosenthal, Richard Taddai, Marilyn Whitely, and Susan Wilson.

Join the Albany Institute of History & Art for the opening reception of From the Hudson to the Nile: Dows Dunham and the Archaeology of Egypt and Sudan. Reception includes light hors d'oeuvres and a selection of wine and beer. From the Hudson to the Nile: Dows Dunham and the Archaeology of Egypt and Sudan celebrates the remarkable career of Dows Dunham (1890–1984), a Hudson Valley–born archaeologist whose pioneering fieldwork in Egypt and Sudan and dedicated scholarship as a curator at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston transformed the field and continue to shape the study and preservation of ancient civilizations today.

The Vermont Jazz Center presents a two-day celebration of youth jazz & mentorship. Friday evening from 5-8 pm at 118 Elliot, enjoy performances by high school & college ensembles as part of Gallery Walk.

Saturday at the Vermont Jazz Center, starting at 11am, features additional student showcases& a free educational clinic (4-5 pm) with three-time Grammy Award-winning drummer Ulysses Owens Jr.

Jay Craven's "Lost Nation" is a Revolutionary War era action drama set in the early upstart Republic of Vermont. The film stars Irish actor Kevin Ryan (“Copper,” "Harry Wild”) as Vermont founding father and rebel schemer, Ethan Allen, and Kenyan actress Eva Ndachi (“Beautifully Broken”) as Lucy Terry Prince, whose poem, “Bars Fight,” about the 1746 Deerfield Massacre, is the first known work of African American literature. The film was shot on more than 3 dozen Western Massachusetts and Vermont locations – and includes battle scenes, dozens of locations and 43 speaking parts – on an indie film budget.

"Lost Nation" has played over 80 sold out dates across New England since its tour began last summer. It was produced through Semester Cinema, an educational film intensive where 30 film professionals mentor and collaborate with 45 college students to produce an ambitious feature film for national release. The program has announced its move to Lenox, MA for the upcoming 2026 Spring semester.
