Festival Celebration Choir with Special Guest AGMC present Stronger Together
Choruses to present Stronger Together Festival Celebration Choir will present “Stronger Together” on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Albany, 362 State St., Albany
12210. Special guest artists will be the Albany Gay Men’s Chorus, directed by Daniel White and accompanied by Diana Parisi. The Festival Celebration Choir is directed by Julie Panke and accompanied by Daniel White.
The program will include choral pieces that focus on the act of singing together as a means of encouraging hope, justice, inclusion, and love. Selections will include “How Can I Keep from Singing?” by Gwyneth Walker, “Unity” by Keith Hampton, and “I Will Sing” by Michael Englehardt. Songs sung jointly by the two choruses will include “One Voice” by Ruth Moody, “If We Only Have Love” by Jacques Brel, and “Draw the Circle Wide” by Mark A. Miller.
Guest instrumentalists are Cliff Brucker, percussion, and Dan Hoke, bass. The recipient of the annual Neil Hook Vocal Music Scholarship will also perform. Tickets are $20, and children 12 and under are free. Available at the door.
