Albany, NY – In today's Academic Minute, Dr. Gary Gillis of Mount Holyoke College's biological sciences department discusses jumping.

Dr. Gillis earned a Ph.D. at UC-Irvine. His interests include biomechanics; neuromuscular control of locomotion; and evolution of vertebrate musculoskeletal systems.

His current research focuses on how animals such as frogs, toads, and lizards use their muscles to move.
