Hampshire College is on its way to becoming 100 percent solar for the electricity used on campus. It is believed to be a first for a residential college anywhere in the United States.
Tests were conducted Tuesday to clear the way for the college to connect the massive array of solar panels installed on two fields to the local electric grid.
Construction on the solar project started in the summer of 2016.
