Flooding Update from Burlington City Officials

Burlington, VT – More rain is expected to increase the water levels of the Winooski River and Lake Champlain over the next few days. Burlington city officials say the record high levels are affecting the city waterfront, parts of the popular bikepath and shoreline residents. Burlington Mayor Bob Kiss said the waters are not expected to recede to normal levels for at least a month.......

At the King Street Ferry Dock on the city waterfront, ferry service has been suspended due to high water. Water has encroached beyond the parking area and ticket booth. Lake Champlain Transportation employees are getting to their offices in hip-waders and a rowboat, while other businesses have closed. Every few minutes, someone walks up to take photos or gaze at the water......
