The co-founder and President of an organization dedicated to repealing the U.S. Supreme Court "Citizens United" ruling granting corporations the same rights as citizens in campaign finance matter, says the recent ruling on The Hobby Lobby case could give new energy to the effort. In "Burwell v. Hobby Lobby", the court ruled five to four that an employer may opt out of providing contraceptive coverage under The Affordable Care Act, based on religious objections. Attorney John Bonifaz of Free Speech For People says the ruling underlines the need to keep in check the political influence of corporations.
