The Dutchess County Board of Elections has announced that the county's votes have been certified and sent to the New York state Board of Elections.

A New York state Supreme Court judge allowed Bard College to set up a polling site on Election Day after a long legal battle. So, how did it turn out? Here’s an update on a story we’ve been following since Bard and other petitioners sued to move the polling site on campus.

A New York state Supreme Court judge has amended her decision from nearly two weeks ago, and ruled that a polling site in Dutchess County can move to the Bard College campus.

And now an update to a story we’ve been bringing you over the past several weeks…After a judge last week denied a petition from Bard College to move an off-campus polling site to its Annandale-on-Hudson campus, petitioners have renewed their claim. They point to an instance where two other polling sites in Dutchess County were moved within a few days of the judge’s decision.

A New York state Supreme Court judge has denied a petition from Bard College to move an off-campus polling site to its Annandale-on-Hudson campus. Bard had filed suit against the Dutchess County Board of Elections in September, alleging unsafe conditions at the current polling site and voter suppression.

The processing of change of address forms at the Dutchess County Board of Elections is moving forward after a logjam and disagreement between the commissioners. But the commissioners agree that misinformation has spread regarding some of the facts. Meantime, a local activist and good government group are concerned.

For what’s thought to be the first time, a full slate of female candidates is running for Dutchess County positions.

Female candidates are out to unseat the County Executive, Clerk, County Court and Family Court Judges.

In New York, the Dutchess County Board of Elections is urging voters to check their polling places.

POUGHKEEPSIE – Democrat current and past staff of the Dutchess County Board of Elections have charged that the 46 felony count indictment against Democrat Elections Commissioner Frances Knapp was “politically orchestrated” by the Republican Party.

An email electronically signed by Victoria Perry, Knapp’s current deputy, and Daniel French, her former deputy, as well as Kim Ferese, Ira Margulies, Steve Gold, David Gill, Kelly Hetrick, Devon DeFiore, Alida Ransom, Debbie Tierney, Ron Tice, Laura Weinel and Beth Sweeny, was sent from Perry’s personal email account.
