In other baseball news:

— Jose Reyes is set to rejoin the Mets for Tuesday's game against Miami, his return to the major leagues following a domestic violence suspension. Reyes shifted from shortstop to third base during his minor league rehab stint and is likely to play there in New York, although current third baseman Wilmer Flores is 7-for-9 with five RBIs in his last two games.

— Yankees pitcher Nathan Eovaldi has been demoted to the bullpen after going 0-4 with a 9.20 ERA in his last six starts. Eovaldi is 6-6 with a 5.54 earned run average this year after going 14-3 in 2015.

— Giants right-hander Sergio Romo has been reinstated from the 60-day disabled list after being sidelined since April 11 with an elbow injury. The 33-year-old setup man had pitched only four times this season for the Giants.

— The Tigers have placed right-hander Jordan Zimmermann on the 15-day disabled list with a right neck strain. Zimmermann was scheduled to pitch Sunday after going 9-4 with a 3.95 ERA in 15 starts. He won his first five starts of the season and is 4-4 in 10 starts since.

NBA:

The Golden State Warriors have given their roster a huge boost by working out a two-year, $54 million contract with Kevin Durant. The agreement comes after Durant helped Oklahoma City take a three-games-to-one lead over the Warriors in the Western Conference finals before Golden State rallied to win the series. The 27-year-old Durant is a four-time NBA scoring champ and the 2014 league MVP who has averaged 27 points and seven rebounds over nine seasons.

A person familiar of the deal says Andrew Bogut will be acquired by the Mavericks from the Warriors, who are trying to clear salary cap space to add Kevin Durant. The person also said the Mavericks are set to sign Harrison Barnes, who will become an unrestricted free agent after Golden State renounces his rights to clear further cap room. Barnes and the Mavs have agreed to a maximum four-year, $94 million pact that will be signed early Thursday, when contracts can be finalized.

A person with knowledge of the situation tells the AP that the Spurs have agreed to a two-year, $30 million deal with veteran forward Pau Gasol after failing to get Kevin Durant. He spent the last two seasons in Chicago and averaged 16.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists this year. The Gasol package comes as Dwyane Wade has extended a two-year, $40 million contract offer to stay with the Miami Heat.

Brandon Jennings has agreed to a deal with the New York Knicks, according to a person with knowledge of the agreement. Jennings will come to the Knicks as the backup to Derrick Rose, who the Knicks acquired from Chicago in a trade last month.

Tennis:

Top-ranked and six-time champion Serena Williams has advanced to the Wimbledon women's quarterfinals with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Svetlana Kuznetsova. Angelique Kerber, Simona Halep and Venus Williams also reached the quarters by winning on Monday, as did Dominika Cibulkova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Yaroslava Shvedova and Elena Vesnina. Fourth-round winners on the men's side include second seed Andy Murray, third seed Roger Federer, No. 6 Milos Raonic and Marin Cilic.

Olympics:

Former Yale runner Kate Grace won the 800 meter final at the U.S. track and field trials in Oregon for the Rio Olympics. Grace finished with a time of 1:59.10. Ajee Wilson finished second and Chrishuna Williams was third.

Methuen, Massachusetts, javelin thrower Sean Furey is headed to the Rio Olympics. Furey finished 11th at the U.S. track and field trials but will be going to Rio because he was one of just three throwers in the final who hit the Olympic standard to qualify. Sam Crouser and Cyrus Hostetler also are on the team, with Hostetler winning the event with a throw of 273 feet, 1 inch.

Neptune, New Jersey, native Ajee Wilson has come in second in the finals of the women's 800-meters at the U.S. track and field trials in Oregon for the Rio Olympics. Kate Grace finished first at 1:59.10 while Wilson came in with a time of 1:59.51.
