Bulls Down Nets 92-76, Dario Cologna Wins Men's 15K Classical-Style Cross-Country Race

The NBA All-Star break has begun following last night's wins by the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls downed the Brooklyn Nets 92-76. Joakim Noah had 14 points and 13 rebounds for his fifth straight double-double. Taj Gibson scored 16 points and Carlos Boozer added 15 after missing three games with a strained left calf.

Meanwhile, Kevin Durant scored 19 of his game-high 43 points in the fourth quarter to rally the Thunder past the Los Angeles Lakers 107-103. Durant also had 12 rebounds and seven assists as the Thunder earned their third straight win and increased their lead in the NBA's Western Conference to four games over San Antonio.

In college basketball, the Siena women's team led for the first 38 minutes of its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game against host Niagara, but it wasn’t enough to avoid defeat. The Purple Eagles scored 10 of the game's final 12 points to rally past the Saints, 65-57.

Checking top 25 men’s scores, No. 9 Michigan St. defeated Northwestern 85-70.

Eighteenth-ranked Creighton beat Butler 68-63 and No. 21 Wisconsin had a 78-70 victory over Minnesota.

Due to hazardous weather conditions, No. 13 Louisville at Temple, and No. 23 SMU at Rutgers were postponed till tonight.

In golf, Dustin Johnson is the leader through one round of the Northern Trust Open in Los Angeles. Johnson birdied six holes in a 5-under-par 66.

At the Winter Olympics in Sochi, the United States swept the medals in men's slopestyle skiing on Thursday, with Joss Christensen grabbing the gold, Gus Kenworthy the silver and Nick Goepper the bronze. The U.S. now has 12 overall medals, one behind Olympic-leader Norway.

The U.S. men's hockey team opened its schedule with a 7-1 win over Slovakia as Paul Stastny scored twice during the Americans' six-goal second period.

And Dario Cologna of Switzerland won his second gold at the Sochi Olympics with a dominant performance in the men's 15-kilometer classical-style cross-country race.
