Tennis:

Novak Djokovic has successfully defended his Wimbledon title by knocking off the man he beat in last year's final. The top-ranked player outlasted longtime rival Roger Federer, 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3. The victory makes Djokovic the first person to have won two Wimbledon championships in a row since Federer collected his fifth consecutive trophy in 2007.

MLB:

In baseball, in the American League, the Yankees topped Boston 8-6, Oakland blanked Cleveland 2-0, Tampa Bay edged Houston 4-3, Minnesota won against Detroit 7-1, Kansas City slid past Toronto 11-10, and it was the Angels over Seattle 10-3.

In the National League the Mets bested Arizona 5-3, San Francisco doubled up Philadelphia 4-2, Pittsburgh edged St. Louis 6-5 in 10 innings, the Dodgers beat Milwaukee 4-3, and it was Colorado over Atlanta 11-3.

In interleague play, Washington slid past Baltimore 3-2, the Cubs beat the White Sox 3-1, and it was San Diego over Texas 2-1.

The U.S. team blew by the World squad 10-1 to win the Futures Game, part of the All-Star festivities in Cincinnati. Cubs catcher Kyle Schwarber hit a two-run triple that got the U.S. rolling. He was the Cubs top pick in the 2014 draft and made his big league debut earlier this season.

A woman hit by a foul ball at Fenway Park during Friday night's Red Sox-Yankees game is recovering at home after getting three dozen stitches in her forehead. Stephanie Wapenski says she was paying attention, but had no time to react when Yankees' shortstop Didi Gregorius hit the ball in the fifth inning. Last month, another woman was hospitalized several days after she was hit in the face by a broken bat at Fenway.

Break out the boats. This All-Star Home Run Derby might just make a splash.

The annual long-ball splurge will have a perfect setting tonight on ESPN at 8 p.m. Great American Ball Park has been one of the major leagues' most homer-friendly places since it opened in 2003, with its short distances and favorable air currents. Perfect time to take aim at the Ohio River.

Only one homer has landed in the river that's beyond the right field stands. Adam Dunn hit one out of the ballpark in 2004, with the ball bouncing before coming to rest on some driftwood in the river. Under a new format this year, every homer that flies more than 420 feet will earn extra seconds in the timed rounds.

Pitchers Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers and Hector Santiago of the Angels have been added to the rosters for Tuesday's All-Star Game in place of Washington's Max Scherzer and Oakland's Sonny Gray. Both Scherzer and Gray started for their clubs on Sunday and elected not to be active. Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun has been added to the NL squad as a replacement for the injured Matt Holliday of the Cardinals.

NBA:

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a deal with former Number 1 pick Andrea Bargnani. Bargnani remains in New York after spending the last two seasons with the Knicks. He has struggled with injuries and appeared in just 29 games last season, averaging 14.8 points. The Nets announced the deal yesterday on Twitter. Terms were not immediately disclosed.

Golf:

In Gee Chun birdied four of her last seven holes for a one-stroke victory over third-round leader Amy Yang at the U.S. Women's Open. Chun shot a 4-under 66 in the final round and finished at 8 under after entering Sunday with a three-stroke deficit. Yang bogeyed the 18th hole after going eagle-birdie on her previous two holes.

Jordan Spieth parred the second playoff hole of the PGA's John Deere Classic to beat 46-year-old Tom Gillis, who was attempting to become the oldest first-time winner on the PGA Tour in 20 years. The 21-year-old Spieth birdied four of the last six holes in regulation for a 3-under 68 and a 20-under total in his fourth win of the year. Zach Johnson and Danny Lee tied for third at 19 under.

NFL:

Buffalo Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer has been arrested in Florida for battery.

Walton County jail records show 48-year-old Kromer was taken into custody just before 2 a.m. Sunday and released about an hour later.

He is charged with battery that caused bodily harm.

A spokeswoman for the Walton County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to a call seeking further details.

In a written statement, the Bills said, "We are aware of the report and in the process of gathering the facts."

Kromer joined the team in January after being fired from the Chicago Bears.

Tour de France:

Chris Froome kept the Tour de France leader's yellow jersey as his Team Sky finished one second behind Tejay van Garderen's BMC team in the team time trial. The 22 teams started off the ninth stage within five minutes of each other over a 17.4-mile trek that ended with a short and sharp hill of 1.1 miles. Teams have to get five riders over the line with the overall time credited to the fifth rider.

WNBA:

In the WNBA, Atlanta beat New York 84-76, Chicago won against Connecticut 96-76, Phoenix bested Seattle 70-60, and it was Minnesota over San Antonio 66-49.
